Ultimate Warriors Tribute To Macho Man Randy Savage

Here are some tribute videos from the Ultimate Warrior to the Macho Man Randy Savage

Interview with Jessie Kaye and up and coming Diva from Baltimore, MD

1. When and why did you decide to become a professional wrestler?
I’ve known since about the 9th grade that I wanted to be in the wrestling business in some capacity. There was a class called “Freshman Seminar,” and its purpose was to get you on your career path and for you to start thinking about the direction your life was going. I would go on the WWE corporate page and look at the “job hiring” section and always looked at the “Creative Writer” position. That’s how I initially knew I wanted to get into Mass Communications because that was one of the degree options they were looking for. In 2008, the end of my Junior year I embarked on my journey on weight loss and in the process on becoming a wrestler. I had never considered being a wrestler prior because at the time I was 223 lbs. and didn’t think it to be logical but it hit me on the elliptical one day when I was struggling for breath. I asked myself if I could be a wrestler and I answered yes, and I’ve been struggling ever since to make this come true.

2. Gilberg stated that he sees you on TV in the near future, what did it mean to have someone with his experience tell you that?

Duane and everyone else at the school really support and believe in me. It means the world to have everyone’s faith and belief that I can do this because sometimes I don’t believe in myself. I would have never thought that Gillberg, or anyone would be telling me that I’d be something in this business. But it doesn’t matter what others say because when it comes down to it, it’s about your hard work and what you put into it each and every day. Nothing is guaranteed so I just have to keep pushing.

3. What did you think of Gillberg when he was in the WWE?
I started watching wrestling in 01-02 so I didn’t see the initial Gillberg run when Goldberg was in WCW and that shindig. But I did see when he came back in the WWE with Rock and Goldberg’s feud with Rock’s party celebration. Never would I imagine that one day he would be one of my trainers. But in my mind at the time, (I was a stupid young kid) I thought it was silly; I didn’t get it and as a kid I swayed because as I was supposed to I didn’t like the heel Rock and I was all for the face Goldberg. (I went through various phases of favorites, first it was Rock, then Goldberg, then as it still is now, Taker) So, since Gillberg was imitating my new favorite in Goldberg I wasn’t a happy camper.

4. How is it training with him?
Duane, and my other trainers Earl the Pearl and Ramblin’ Rich, who have done jobs in the WWF and have been successful independent wrestlers, are spectacular. I love them like my family and they know the business so, so well because they have been in it for so long. I am so lucky to have them.

5. Were your parents supportive of your dream?
They thought wrestling in general was going to be a phase of mine. They figured they would take me to my first live wrestling event and I wouldn’t want to go back. Obviously they were wrong. I think it was the same deal with actually wrestling, they figured I would try it and wouldn’t want to go back. Wrong again. Of course they don’t want to see me get hurt and I know it’s tough for them to see me limping my way back home or to come home with huge bruises, but they support me. It was something they had to get used to but now my parents have no problem telling people, “My daughter is training to be a professional wrestler.”

6. I see you are a student at Towson University, do any of your classmates or teacher know that you are a professional wrestler?
I’m transferring to Towson in the fall and have been going to Anne Arundel Community College for the past two years. Usually on that first day, when you tell something interesting about yourself I try to bring up wrestling. It answers a lot of questions anyway because people ask why I walk weird, limp, or if I lift weights. Plus I love the reactions… “You? You’re a wrestler?” If there’s a project or a paper where you can pick the topic it usually revolves around wrestling. It’s my passion, it’s who I am and I love it so it’s easy to write about it.

7. Have you ever met Towson and WWE Alumni Stacy Kiebler?
I haven’t had the pleasure, but my dad would take me to shows when I was younger I think partially just to see her.

8. Who were your favorite wrestlers growing up and why?
When I was just starting to watch, The Rock was my favorite. Not only was he good looking to a little girl but he captured you on the microphone and was simply…electrifying. As I said I liked Goldberg for about a year, and he transitioned to me loving Taker who I still love to this day. Something about him really captured me and when my parents had some trouble I would watch a Taker match or a promo and all my problems would go away. That’s what wrestling is about, taking people away from their problems and making it all go away. I hope I can do the same for someone.

9. Who were your favorite WWE divas?
I loved Trish, Lita, Victoria and especially Mickie because I was old enough to appreciate her when she got onto television.

10. What is your major at Towson and do you believe you can tie it into your wrestling career?
My major is Electronic Media and Film, basically editing and the overall process of production of video. Wrestling is a business, media related with plenty of video production involved. I see this first hand with the MCW Rage TV tapings that we do on a regular basis. Just like the media world, the wrestling world is cut throat and you need to be able to communicate with people, make connections and use those connections when you need them. There are so many similarities as to what I’m learning in school and wrestling and I’m happy that it worked out that way.

11. Do you attend a lot of the independent shows outside of Maryland Championship Wrestling, and if so which is your favorite?
To be honest, ever since starting my training I haven’t gone to any local independent wrestling shows. Eventually I’d love to venture into some all women’s promotions to wrestle in the next few years.

12. When is your next match?
June 25th (my birthday) in Martinsburg VA

13. Can you describe your first match?
My only match in front of people thus far, yes I am THIS GREEN! It was a triple threat match at a free show this past January. We had it pretty down as far as what were doing so it was simple. I look forward to getting better so I can just call things on the fly, travel more and learn more in the process.

14. Would you ever apply for WWE Tough Enough why or why not?
Tough Enough I think is a great opportunity to jumpstart you, get you exposure, and get you to the WWE if you stand out enough to make it to the ones they pick. But let’s say if you do make it to the WWE locker room, you’re probably not going to get the respect from the boys/girls that you would if you got your way through developmental and made it your own way. It’s hard to say what I’d do if the opportunity really was there. I really want to travel and work independent shows, I want to gain connections and gain that experience. But at the same time, if the opportunity was there, who wouldn’t grab it?

15. What would you say is different about your style?
I’m going to be sneaky and change this question a bit and tell you what’s different about me personally rather than my style. I am real. What you see is what you get. I’m hard working, honest, tough and genuine. I’m not afraid to make an idiot out of myself and I’m not afraid to bleed, bruise or go through fire to get what I want. I’m hard-headed and I will achieve my dreams and I am so thankful for all the support I get from my friends and family.

The Very Best of WCW Monday Nitro

It has been awhile since I have been excited for a dvd release, well since the History of WrestleMania. Which came out in March, however, last year it seemed that there was a new DVD out every week. This one seems to be a highly anticipated one. WWE has been a great in putting DVDs Together. Since its departure in 2001, WCW fans have been screaming for something like this. Monday Nitro was the flagship program for World Championship Wrestling and it was what put them on the map and allowed them to become a serious opponent in the ratings against the WWE. The WWE has put together some great DVDs including Hart & Soul, The History of WrestleMania, and the Monday Night Wars just to name a few. They have also dropped the ball on a few DVDs including Edge a Decade of Decadence, and  The Top 50 Superstars just to name a couple. With these DVDs I felt they could have did so much better, adding some more flavor to them and telling a better story. From the looks of it, the Nitro DVD, they are using the format of having a match in between each segment, rather than tell a story throughout the DVD and show just highlights of matches and save the full matches for the other disc. Here is the format for the upcoming Best of Nitro DVD

Who's Next for Cena?

Some say it will be Alberto Del Rio, others say it will be CM Punk. Maybe even R-Truth? Personally I would love to see Cena and Punk square off. Why not go full circle for the Nexus on who they began their careers in the WWE attacking. Last year, we witnessed Cena represent the WWE as the Nexus invaded with a hostile takeover. However, that was with Wade Barrett and there was no gold on the line. This year, Nexus has more experienced leader in CM Punk and he can possibly bring the most prestigious title to the Nexus thus making them a true force in the WWE. CM Punk also has great in ring ability, great microphone skills, and the ability to make anyone hate him, and keep Cena from getting stale to the fans.

As far as Del Rio is concerned, personally I do not think he is ready for a WWE title shot. A match between he and Cena would be boring. I have yet to see Del Rio carry a match and be really impressive. At WrestleMania he dropped the ball, although many could argue that he was wrestling with caution due to the unknown condition of Edge at the time. His matches with Kofi Kingston and Christian at Elimination Chamber and Extreme Rules were good matches, however, that was due to his opponent. If Del Rio can improve his in ring ablilty and add a few moves to his arsenal, then by the fall, he and Cena can have a legitimate rivalry for the title.

R Truth is a great heel. His turn was unexpected and he gets a lot of heat from the fans. He even brought us back to the 80s when there was some superstars who did not have theme music. In the ring, he is awesome and a match with he and Cena could be a match of the year candidate. The anamyous general manager keeps knocking him back down, stating that he is not ready for a title shot. Whenever he gets one, hopefully he will make the best out of it.

Kharma being written off of WWE television

So according to the Wrestling Observer, Kharma has been written of WWE television for nine months. They are indicating that it was due to the vicious clothesline she delivered to Alicia Fox a few weeks ago on Smackdown that led to her dislocating her shoulder. Fans tend to think that she is pregnant. Time will tell.

My Reflection on Macho Man Randy Savage

At 12:43 pm Friday May 20, 2011, I received a text message that would change my life. Many people would ask, did something happen to someone in my family. Indeed would have been my response. Being a fan of professional wrestling for all 24 years of my life, the superstars whom I grew up watching, I tend to look at as family. Hearing that one of my childhood heroes Randy Poffo known by his ring name as Macho Man Randy Savage was killed in a car accident was indeed devastating. Without a doubt, this is the biggest of the many deaths that have occured in professional wrestling. Three deaths that affected me the way this one did were the following: Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, and Curt “Mr Perfect” Henning. Each of these guys I constantly rooted for to become heavyweight champion. No one could cut a promo like Savage, and there was no Superstar during the 80s or 90s who had more colors in his attire and yet was still more dangerous than anyone. One of the best things about Savage, he could be the best heel on the card as well as the best babyface.
I was just reminiscing the other day about Savage and his run in the NWO and how he and Hollywood Hulk Hogan would constantly go back and forth. Sometimes Savage and Hogan would be the best of friends, then other times, while he still remained in the NWO, he and Hogan would not get along at all. This, in my opinion, reflected their real life relationship. Hogan indicated that he and Savage had not spoke for ten years, however, the two recently started speaking and burying the hatched.
The following are three matches of Savage that I really enjoyed.
Macho Man Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat for the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship WrestleMania III
This match lived on for the next 22 years as unquestionably the best WrestleMania match in history. The amount of near falls that were in this match at this time were out of this world. With Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant being billed as the main event for that evening in the Pontiac Silverdome in front of 93,000 plus, Savage and Steamboat stole the show. Even though Savage came up on the short in, this is one of the matches that elevated his career to the next level.
60 Man Battle Royal World War III for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship
A lot of people tend to forget about this match. However, this was the first time Savage won the WCW World Title. Since his arrival to WCW, he had been taking it to Flair and the Four Horsemen. Later, he would have issues with Lex Luger. That night, they would meet in a grudge match. Savage had previously broken his arms, and Luger would not hesistate to take advantage of it defeating Savage in their match and defeating Savage. However, Savage had bigger plans that night and during the battle royal Savage would become the Heavyweight Champion for the first of five times in his career in WCW.
Macho Man Randy Savage vs Crush WrestleMania X. Falls Count Anywhere
This match seems to be one that has been forgotten by many due to the fact on the same card fans were treated with Bret vs Owen Hart, Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon, and Bret Hart vs Yokozuna. However, this match was one for the ages, and on a different card, it would have been talked about more. This was a match built up because Crush had recently turned on Savage and costed him the WWF Championship on a recently Monday Night Raw. As he did at WrestleMania III, Savage set the bar for the future, when he and Crush went all over the arena, and it was Savage who would leave with the victory after pinning Crush backstage, tying him up not allowing him to return to the ring within 60 seconds as the rules called for.
There are many matches that I will later address in a video segment, but these are some that first came to mind.

WWE Over The Limit Predictions

Rey Mysterio vs. R Truth
I am actually looking forward to this match. I would love to see R-Truth pull out the victory in this one. I have said often that Mysterio has become stale and boring and with this match and his rivalry with Truth it may actually help Mysterio become entertaining to watch again.
Kane and Big Show vs. Mason Ryan and CM Punk for the Tag Team Titles

Hopefully this match gets more respect than Kane and Big Show did at Extreme Rules. Honestly, the two are boring tag team champions. It does not help that the two are different show which makes it seem almost pointless for the two to be drafted. Personally I would not mind Punk and Ryan winning the titles just for a change to happen. Also, if Punk and Ryan win the titles, they will prove to be on the verge of becoming a dominant faction.

Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson for the Intercontinental Title
I think that this match depends on Jacksons approach. Finally he gets a title shot that means something. And if Jackson can defeat Barrett, he will prove that he belongs here. It will also prove that he made the right move of leaving the Corre. However, I do not think Slater and Gabriel are going let Jackson leave with the Intercontinental Title.
Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole in a Kiss My Foot Match
The situation with these two is old. There is no reason that they should have been feuding after WrestleMania. And then for Cole and Swagger to win at Extreme Rules was ridiculous. This match should be the first on the card. Nonetheless, I think Jerry will finally get his revenge. With Swagger no longer by the side of Cole, Jerry will have a field day in the ring.
Randy Orton vs. Christian for the World Heavyweight Title
These two had perhaps had the best match in the history of Smackdown.  Randy Orton however was indeed able to pull off the victory catch Christian off guard with the RKO as he did with Punk so many times catching him off  the tope rope. I would love to see Christian win his belt back, however Orton is no stranger to a World title match and I do not see him losing the belt anytime soon.
John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Title in an I Quit Match
Here we go again. Cena in an I Quit match, let’s face it, no one can beat him. He will not say I quit. The only way I can see him saying I quit is if it is pre-recorded the way The Rock and Shane McMahon did for Mankind to say it back at the 1999 Royal Rumble. It would be nice to see the Miz get his title back, but Cena is not going to say I Quit and therefore he will retain the WWE Championship.

Over The Limit Set Back

Am the only one not really excited about this Sundays Pay-Per-view? I really feel like it is predictable. The last pay-per-view that was this predictable was the Elimination Chamber. However, it still delievered. This Sunday, Cena defends the title against Miz in an I-Quit match. He has never said I quit and as a babyface, I do not see that happening now. Then there is Christian vs Randy Orton, which should headline the show. Do you really think Christian will win the belt again? If so right now? Last Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole finally will climax their differences. King should win this. With Cole burying Swagger last Monday, there is no reason Cole should win this and keep us bored with this. I would like to see Cole become a manager one day. He would work well with Swagger and perhaps help him return to the spotlight. The worse thing I have seen in the past six months was Cole coming out and saying that everyone forgot that Swagger was a World Heavyweight Champion. Seriously Cole, somethings are better left unsaid. Hopefully we will be surprised this Sunday and perhaps they will even put on a better show than Extreme Rules, but the bar is set tremendously high.

Managers in Wrestling!

I have always been a fan of managers in wrestling. From the likes of Bobby Heenan, Sensational Sherri, Mr Fuji, Jimmy Hart, and many more, these figures helped groom wrestlers into superstars. On Superstars, Michael P.S. Hayes was great with his promo reasoning why managers are needed. He stated that these young wrestlers need guidance. Without a manager, some of the wrestlers during the 80s and 90s may not have had their careers elevated to such heights. Some wrestlers include Yokozuna, Haku, and the One Man Gang. Managers, in my opinion, should always have a place in wrestling. Growing up, I hated Bobby Heenan and Colonel Parker, every time I turned around they were interfering with someones match, and just when I felt one of my favorite wrestlers would become champion, there it was a cheap shot. Today, you do not see that. Vickie Guerrero is perhaps the best in the business today. Then again, she is the only serious one right? With Hayes managing Tyson Kidd, I can really see his career elevating almost immediately. Remember when Paul Heyman introduced Brock Lesnar. You knew he was a big deal.

During the late 80s and early 90s, managers such as Sensational Sherri played just as much of a role as Bobby Heenan and James E. Cornette. As wrestling went more into Sports Entertainment, female managers became more of a distraction. Women such as Debra, Sable, and Trish Stratus purpose was to distract the opponent and allow their superstar to get the victory. There was less guidance to championships. However, they still had their place. Wrestling without managers is just as crazy as a wrestling company without a championship.

Bringing in managers back in the WWE will help superstars such as John Morrison and D.H. Smith who each had great tag team careers have great singles careers. Neither are really strong on the microphone, but perhaps with a great manager, they could rise to be a great Intercontinental or United States Champion. One man who I would love to see have a manager is Ted DiBiase Jr. I think if his dad becomes his manager, he could lead him to gold, even the one title he never officially held, the WWE Championship. Even someone like Chris Masters who has the build of champion is put with a manager who perhaps is a former champion could be elevated in a manner of months.

Where Does Christian Go From Here

Like everyone all across the WWE Universe, I was extremely upset when Captiain Charisma lost the title to Randy Orton. I have said time and time again, that as a babyface, Randy Orton has become very stale. The type of personality he has, works better when he is a heel. He is the type to sneak up behind you and catch you off guard, spit in your face (literally) and then look in the ground and say, "that's why Im great." Yeah, you are really great when you attack someone when they are not looking. So when he became World Heavyweight Champion, even though it was probably the best match in the history of Smackdown, I was still upset. So where does Christian go from here?  Well I think with the crowd reaction he received when he won the title at Extreme Rules, he proved that he is a Main Eventer. But with randy being a face, and Christian chasing after the title, it almost is guranteed that Christian will become a heel. I cannot recall (comment if you can) a face-heel turn during a championship reign. In 2001, when he and Edge went seperate ways and he joined the Alliance, Christian was a great heel. With the match that he and Orton had on Smackdown, I think it will only get better with stipulations such as ladder matches, no disqualifications, etc. Remember that was the free show, imagine what they would give us if we have to pay for it. So my answer to the question is that I believe Christian will be a major player in the WWE for the upcoming year. I believe that he can be a main eventer at WrestleMania 28. Of course the stage is already set for The Rock vs John Cena. If Christian is the champion or challenger in the Smackdown Main Event, who will be his opponent? That remains to be seen

Raw review 5/9/11

There were a lot of points that made me say really this is PG?
R-Truth coming out yelling, why did you make an angry black man upset, and then he is not in the title match. There was no explanation for this move. I also did not understand why he had to say that Del Rio and Mysterio should go outside of Taco Bell. Really??
Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole's segment is really getting old. Why did Michael Cole have to bring up Jerry's mom passing in February. While there was no blood, gore, bra and panties matches, it still did not seem like a show that would be something you would cater to young children.
I personally thought the main event was boring. I was happy to see the Miz pull out the victory followed by R-Truth beating up on Rey Mysterio. Other than that, the show seemed to be just another day at the office. Two matches were made for the Over the Limit. Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole and if Cole wins, Jerry will give him his Hall of Fame ring and induct him. Also added, The Miz vs John Cena in an "I Quit" Match for the WWE Championship. This shall be entertaining. I think by now the Miz can put a good show inside the ring as well as outside the ring.

Lil Mae Interview

Lil Mae Interview
Lil Mae wrestles for Anarchy Championship Wrestling and many other organizations. I had the pleasure of speaking with her about her accomplishments, check it out
BDuB : How long have you been wrestling
Lil Mae:3 years in September
BDuB : Who has been some wrestlers that you idolized growing up?
Lil Mae: Jazz, Ivory, Chyna, and Trish Stratus
BDuB:Who is your favorite now?
Lil Mae Chris Jericho
BDuB : What was your favorite match that you have been in?
Lil Mae: Jazz and Awesome Kong vs Simply Luscious and me, I loved it! The first time I bled in a match. It was accidental, Jazz hit me with a chair and the corner caught me, but it was fun none the less
BDuB Do you preferred to be cheered or booed?
Lil Mae I love to be cheered. I am wrestling to entertain people and I love being the center of their attention.
BDuB Who is your dream opponent?
Lil Mae: Beth Phoenix
BDuB: Where would you like to see your career elevate to?
Lil Mae: I would love to make it to TNA or WWE, but my dream is to wrestle in Japan. Because it is hard to be a success in Japan. You have to work for the respect not just because you come out of the curtain happy or looking mean. Your work has to speak for its self
BDuB: How many title reigns have you had?
Lil Mae I haven’t had any titles yet. Almost every time I get a title shot, my opponent has to cheat to beat me.
BDuB: How long have you been a fan of professional wrestling?
Lil Mae I started watching wrestling in the attitude era of WWE and I have been hooked ever since
BDuB: Ever thought about being on tough enough?
Lil Mae: I sent my application into WWE’s casting department, but I wasn’t chosen. Tough Enough is something that would both be a challenge and an accomplishment for me.
BDuB: How do you manage your professional career and personal life?
Lil Mae: Wrestling is kinda like a big stress reliever for me. I am single and don’t have any children right now, so I am pretty free to do as I please. I love wrestling and every aspect of it. So I am glad I can live my dream.
BDuB: Do you have a different approach when you go to the ring when you know that you are going to win as opposed to when you will lose?
Lil Mae: For the majority of wrestling fans, they know wrestling is a work. Despite the fact if I win or lose, I give every match my all. This sport is about the fans. With out them, we wouldn’t have a job. It is my duty to make sure they are entertained to the fullest of my ability.
BDuB: Have you ever been seriously injured?
Lil Mae: Fortunately I haven’t been seriously injured. I have bitten through my lip and sprained my ankle, but nothing more than that.
BDuB: A lot of people say that wrestling is fake, how would you respond to that?
Lil Mae: I challenge everyone that says wrestling is fake to let me hit them with a chair, take a bump on the ground, or even take a forearm. Each wrestler, from the curtian jerkers, to main eventers put their bodies on the line each and every time we step in the ring. Wrestling is like magic shows. We know what magicians do is an illusion, but we still enjoy magic without knowing how the tricks are done.

Booker T as a Commentator

I listen to a lot of podcasts, and a lot of people are disappointed in Booker T being a color commentator. I do not think he is that bad. He is clearly no Jerry the King Lawler, Larry Zbyszko, or even Mr Perfect, but I think in due time he will be good enough. Personally I think he is better than Tazz was when he first started or even Mick Foley. But as time moved on, Tazz got better and I think Booker will also. He does seems to be inconsistent. At Extreme Rules he did praise Sheamus for pulling off a sneak attack on Kofi Kingston, but then turned around and criticized Cody Rhodes for doing the same exact thing. Once he has a few shows under his belt, I believe Booker T will be a solid Color Commentator.

BDuBs Thoughts on Raw 5/2

Opening up with The Rock was great. I really liked him getting not only the arena, but also the country rallied behind the recent events involving the United States military. It was funny that he and Michael Cole had yet another interaction. Finally, everyone got what they have been waiting for, seeing Cole get Rock Bottomed. It was ironic that he had a Celtics jersey on, and the Heat rock bottomed the Celtics yesterday. The interactions with The Rock and the entire WWE locker room were great. The only thing is that it took away from the results from last night. If I did not see the pay-per-view, I would have been confused.
It would have been nice to see Morrison and R-Truth actually fight. However, this will definitely lead to a great match in the upcoming weeks.
I was happy to see Kharma come out again and destroy yet another real life "Barbie doll." This has been a great story from the beginning. And with Maryse being the victim, and Kelly Kelly watching in fear, it is only a matter of time before the entire divas locker room is destroyed.
Miz and Cenas rivalry is only begin to heat up. This has had a lot of distraction. Before it was Cena, Rock, and Miz, then Cena, Morrison and Miz. Now it almost seems like its heading to the one on one battle. It was disappointing as a Miz fan to see him get the three count, then the decision be reversed because the referee did not see the belt. I have never seen this happen. In the end Cena is still WWE Champion.
Later, Cena went to the back during one of Rocks many backstage celebrations, and indicated to the Rock that he would indeed hold the title until WrestleMania and that they would have the biggest WrestleMania match in history. This remains to be seen.
I was really impressed with Mason Ryan. I think he has potential. A lot of people see him as the next Batista, but a great point that was made was that Ryan is not as old as Batista, who is in his 40s.
Ending the show with the Rock was a great way to cap a great night. And then seeing Vince McMahon come out, really displayed the respect that The Rock has. Last but surely not least, seeing Mya come out was great for everyone, even those who are not wrestling fans. Overall this was a great episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, however, it was not the typical night after pay-per-view episode.

WWE Extreme Rules Post Thoughts.

Extreme Rules was the best Pay-Per-View I have seen by the WWE in years. I missed the Orton and Punk match, but from what everyone is telling me it was great. Kingston and Sheamus put on a very good match. When Sheamus first arrived, I thought he was pushed too fast, and I was not impressed. However, I saw that he had great matches with Kingston in the past, and Morrison. Kingston even looked aggressive in this match which really helps him a lot. This truly seemed like an extreme rules night and this in my opinion help set the night up for what we were about to see. When he leaped onto Sheamus to secure his victory, I was happy that I was treated to a great match.
Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio had a great match also. I thought that they had a potential show stealer at WrestleMania. This matched followed up very well. To see them go backstage seem like Vince McMahon meant what he said when he stated, "in order to move forward, we must go back a little" I had a feeling Rey would win this match, but I must say, he did not bore me with it.
Michael Cole and Jack Swagger vs JR and the King is not even worth writing about. For Cole to win again makes no sense at all.
Michelle McCool and Layla had a great match. Even with all the buzz around that McCool was leaving the WWE, she left giving the fans something to remember. Her and Layla actually went out and pull out everything. In the end, it was Layla winning and McCool leaving the WWE. As she got up, she was great by none other than Kharma. Formerly known as Awesome Kong in TNA, she came out and made a huge impact on the Divas division immediately. As if, being defeated by her former best friend Layla was not enough, Being driven straight to hell by a 200 pound behemoth put Michelle McCool in worse shape than she has ever been in her career. What was even better, a gang of WWE divas were in the locker room staring in awe as if they were all disturbed. Kharma in less than three minutes put the entire diva locker room on notice
Kane and Big Show defeating the Corre, being represented by Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson was no surprise. The fact that this was a lumberjack match was stupid. I understand that this was a filler match, just to give you a chance to catch your breath, but a lumber jack match?
John Cena vs John Morrison vs The Miz ended up being better than I thought. This is the fourth time this year that the Miz has been asked to live up to great matches that came before him. At the Royal Rumble it was the Ziggler-Edge match, Elimination Chamber, the Smackdown Chamber match, and WrestleMania it was The Undertaker-Triple H match. The Miz is one of my favorite superstars, therefore it was a big shock to me to see him lose the title. I really liked R-Truth coming out and interfering in this match. I think he and Morrison can put on some great matches. Perhaps they will be bouts for the number one contender?
Christian and Alberto Del Rios match in my opinion should have been the main event going in. The belt was vacated for goodness sakes. These two put all they had into this one. Del Rio really made up for his cold feet at WrestleMania. I thought the Step Ladder was really funny. When Del Rio was at the top of the ladder, I just knew he was going become champion, but the big surprise was seeing Edge come out in a Jeep, of all vehicles, and blow the horn to distract Del Rio which gave Christian time to rise above the occasion, knock Del Rio off and climb up to the top of the ladder, much as he did before, but unlike the rest, this time he would become for the first time in his career, World Heavyweight Champion. Seeing Edge out there and congratulating Christian on his big moment was like none other. I cannot wait to see how this will elevate Christian and his career in the WWE.
