Raw review 6/13/11

Personally I thought that having an All-Stars version of Raw would have been better if it was not the last before Captiol Punishment. There were some great matches, but in the end, I personally thought that for the second week in the row, the show started off good and went downhill from there. I also did not understand the multiple interruptions from the anonymous general manager. If Stone Cold Steve Austin was the guest general manager for the night, then why did we need this idiot to be “present.” Really, can he have a vacation?
Beginning with the Miz was really good. I like how the Miz pointed out that he has had problems with both the iconic Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Miz would begin demanding an apology from Austin and what he received was a match with the legendary Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Austin after he sent the Miz packing, was interrupted by Alberto Del Rio. He then booked Del Rio to face Kane.
Kane def Alberto Del Rio via Disqualification
I like the aggression that Del Rio used in this match when he put Kane in the cross armbar, even though it got him disqualified. This led to the return of the Big Show. Big Show came out and attacked Del Rio. Now unless I missed something, why was his hand taped, if his knee got caught under the car. I thought the Big Show would be out longer however this allowed Austin to make the match for the two face each other at Capitol Punishment.
Sin Cara, Ezekiel Jackson & Daniel Bryan def. Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase
This was a great wrestling match. I am not as much of a fan of six-man tag matches any longer, I feel that the concept has been used to many times. Sin Cara worked really well and it was him scoring the pinfall on Barrett after he was abused with multiple bodyslams and the torture rack by Jackson. In my opinion, I feel that Ezekiel Jackson will finally defeat Barrett for the Intercontinental Title at Capitol Punishment.
Sheamus def. Santino Marella
In this match, I saw the old Sheamus. I thought that he was losing his winning ways and ruthless aggression. It is always great to see submission wrestling, and seeing Sheamus using the Texas Cloverleaf to obtain the victory show his great wrestling ability.
Rey Mysterio def. Christian by Disqualification
This match ended after Mysterio was attacked by the Nexus. After Christian hit the Kill-switch to send a message to Randy Orton. If Christian can display the same type of aggression, then he has a chance to once again become the World Heavyweight Champion.
U.S. Champion Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne def. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger
On a normal two hour segment, this match would not have taken place. All four of these men are the future of the WWE and personally I cannot wait til Sunday to see Kingston take on Ziggler. However, I think Ziggler will pull off the victory and become the new WWE U.S. Champion.
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper def. The Miz with special guest referee Alex Riley
This match was entertaining, but it was predictable. Before the match, an episode of Piper Pit occurred and it was brought to the attention of everyone that Miz has been often compared to Piper. I did like how this was the only true “All-Stars” match of the night (One Generation against Another). Even though the Miz lost $5,000 in this match, I believe that he will take out all his aggression Sunday and defeat Riley.
Kelly Kelly, Eve, Gail Kim, Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Kaitlyn & AJ def. Divas Champion Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Maryse, Melina, Alicia Fox, Tamina & Rosa Mendes
This was a typical Divas fill in match. Before this match, I did not realize that there were 14 divas on the roster. With Kharma out of the picture, the divas have returned to being what they were, just fill ins before the main event. I will be glad when Brie Bella does not have the Divas title any longer. Having Kelly Kelly score the victory proves that she is the face of the diva division.
CM Punk def. WWE Champion John Cena in a Non-Title Match
CM Punk and John Cena always have a great match when the two face off. I was never the biggest fan of Punk, but I could never count out his in ring ability. His matches tell a story, and he has the ability to make you hate him.
I did like how R-Truth used his tactics to distract Cena and allow Punk to hit the Go To Sleep and score the victory over the champion. Truth then would get in the ring and continue to pummel Cena and attempt to weaken him for Captiol Punishment.
Other notes on the show
I enjoyed Christian getting inside of Randy Orton’s head by telling him that he would face him in the ring, only to send security to contain Orton.
I also enjoyed Stone Cold Steve Austin beating up the “Raw General Manager.” I will be glad when they finally reveal who this person is. It is really getting old now.
Last but not least, R-Truth continues his mind games this time beating up John Morrison prior to the match that they were supposed to have. R-Truth continues to thrive in his role as the biggest heel in the company.

The New Cohost of The New Show, The Wrestling Wrealm

Coming soon is BDuBs brand new show, Everyone check it out

Wrestling Matters to Mr Main Event BDuB

Total Nonstop Action also known as TNA changed their name recently to Impact Wrestling. Their reason for changing their name was a direct shot at the WWE changed their name from World Wrestling Entertainment. The WWE did this because they no longer wanted to be known as a wrestling company. WWE wants to be known more for entertainment. They even went as far not calling their employees "wrestlers" any longer, instead, they are "superstars." Now after hearing this, I did not make any sense to me. They still get inside the ring, with the goal of achieving victory, and the ultimate goal, winning the World Championship. So why isn't this wrestling any longer? Well its just like KFC, even though they are not called Kentucky Fried Chicken any longer, does not mean that they do not sell chicken.

So what do you mean when you say wrestling matters? Personally wrestling matters mean that no matter what I will watch two individuals lock up in the squared-circle. If Im bored, I will get on YouTube and watch old WWE , WCW, ECW, or any Independent wrestling clips I can get to. Wrestling Matters even means that when I am channel surfing and I come across an unknown wrestling promotion, I immediately stop and watch it for at least five minutes. Last but not least, wrestling matters means that No matter what people say or who is around, if wrestling is being discussed I will immediately join the conversation and say proudly that I am a fan of professional wrestling.

If Im bored, YouTube always has the pleasure of treating me to some of my favorite wrestling matches or moments in history. The cool thing about YouTube is that there are lots of matches that I have not seen, even in the WWE, so during my spare time I can view them. Whenever I want to see a good wrestling match, I can go right to YouTube and find it. Another great asset that this site has been to me is that I can find just about all the independent promotions located right here. On here I can find different wrestlers who are on the way to the top. This is what wrestling matters to me, seeing unknown participate in the sport that I love the most.

The first time I attended an independent promotion, it was Maryland Championship Wrestling's Shamrock Cup. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go, he just stated that there would be wrestling at a building that is used for a flea market right across the street from a local wal-mart.  And since he said the magic word, "wrestling" I was automatically interested. On that night, I did not know who anyone was, or their ranking within the promotion, but because they were wrestling, I was hooked. And now I am a proud supported of independent wrestling, because I respect their hard work and dedication to the craft.

While channel surfing a few weeks ago, I came across a promotion on Comcast cable that I have never heard of. Now honestly I thought that the presentation was terrible, however, it consisted of wrestling and because of that, I had to stop looking for something to watch. Another example, I was working in a hospital and as I was channel surfing, I came across the Spanish channel and saw some good lucha libre action going on. And even though I am not fluent in speaking or even understand Spanish yet, I enjoyed the action of the matches. Wrestling matters this much that even during promotions I have never heard of will still get at least five minutes of my time just because it is wrestling.

All my life I have been a proud fan of professional wrestling. My mom even indicated that when I was about two years old, I was at the doctors office and while in the waiting area, I was playing with another little boy and in the middle of us playing with the toys, I asked him if he watched wrestling and he said yes and we continued playing. my mom often jokes about that day saying that if he said no, I would have left. At every job I have had in my life, I have come across at least one co worker who watches it just as much as I do, and I have always had continuous conversations with that person on Tuesdays after WWE Monday Night Raw.

I have never been ashamed of being a fan of professional wrestling. I love the sport. Whether you call it a sport or sports entertainment, I will always be a fan. Anytime I get a chance to be in the presence of professional wrestling, or carry on a conversation with another fan, I am happy because I am in my world!

Post Raw Thoughts June 6, 2011 ( Miz Injured After Raw)

I felt this episode of Monday Night Raw started out great, then fell flat.
It is always great when you see Stone Cold Steve Austin began a show no matter what. Austin crowned Andy as tough enough champion. After that, Andy was slapped by Vince McMahon and received a Stone Cold Stunner from Austin. Talk about a welcome into the company. Then fans greeted with R-Truth coming down looking like a black "Uncle Sam." He apologize, then claimed that there was a conspiracy going on. This really showed that R-Truth is over. The fans have someone that they truly love to hate.  Hopefully he can maintain a main event slot. Afterwards, The Miz, Alex Riley, and John Cena all came down to the ring and before you knew it, the main event was made, Cena and Riley vs Miz and R-Truth. Before that was made, Cena indicated that since R-Truth finally apologized he would be granted his WWE title match. So finally we have a match for Capitol Punishment. Now, onto the match. This match ended up being pretty boring, and in the end it was the Miz receiving a beat down from Riley, a Stunner from Stone Cold and a Attitude Adjustment from Cena.
Another match I found pretty interesting, Jack Swagger vs Booker T. Booker T looked really great in the ring, and I think that he can help build Jack Swagger back up. Only time will tell.
I am looking forward to seeing what Kofi Kingston is going to do. There was a great video package put together showing some great highlights. I truly believe that it is time for Kofi to be elevated into the main event picture.

According to Pro Wrestling Torch, The Miz suffered a leg injury in a dark match with John Cena following Monday Night RAW.
During the match, Cena threw Miz to the outside of the ring. Miz definitely appeared to be in pain and was holding his leg. He had to have paramedics help him to the back. Cena thanked fans for coming out and seemed concerned about Miz's injury.

Real Championship Wrestling T3 Highlights (Baltimore, MD)

Last night I had the pleasure of attending Real Championship Wrestling in Baltimore and it as a great event. Independent wrestling is great because you really feel like you are apart of the show. You see the wrestlers improve their craft right in front of your eyes, and then if they decide to advance their careers into the WWE then you can really see where they started and all their hard work pay off. I been attending independent wrestling since 2006, and immediately I feel in love. I have been a fan of this business since I was born so anytime I get to see two individuals lock up in the squared-circle, it is always a treat.
My first show was Maryland Championship Wrestling's  2006 Shamrock Memorial Cup. On this night I had the pleasure of watching a man who would become one of my favorite wrestlers on the indy scene, Ruckus, become the winner. On this night I had the pleasure of meeting TNA's (now known as Impact Wrestling) own  Chris Saban and Petey Williams.

Since then, I have been trying to attend as many shows as I can.
On Saturday June 4, 2011, I had the pleasure of attending Real Championship Wrestling  T3, the Anniversary Show in Baltimore, MD. This was a night full of action and breath taking moments. I will highlight some of the nights biggest matches:

Mia Yim defeated Kimber Lee.

This match was booked as Mia Yim taking on a mystery opponent. At the previous show Supremacy, Yim wrestled Sara Del Rey in a classic match in which she just fell short. I knew coming into this match she would be looking to redeem herself. It should also be noted that she had just came from a tour in Japan for REINA.She said she learned a lot in Japan and could not wait to go back. In this match she really took control of Lee. During the match, Yim use a great deal of submission moves and was able to finish Lee with the "Kick Me Goodnight" to obtain the victory. This being the second match on the card really helped set the pace for the show.

BLK OUT defeats Adam Flash and Ryan McBride
.
The beginning of the match was delayed because Robby Mireno wanted to fight everyone fan in the audience. He really drew a lot of heat from the crowd. Once the match got started, we saw a great display of wrestling from the veterans of the business. In the end, it was Saban holding down the foot of Adam Flash from the outside while Mireno was able to score the victory. After the match, Flash and McBride attacked both Mireno and Saban.

Christian York defeats Azrieal to retain the RCW World Championship via DQ

Another great display of in ring ability by two veterans. There were many points in which I thought that there would be a new champion crowned, but the "York Daddy" would not allow it. Sitting from the left side of the ring, I noticed this masked individual standing beside the wall out of no where and before I knew it, he was in the ring attacking the Champion, and the ref immediately called for the bell.

Derek Frazier defeats Ruckus in a Last Man Standing Match
This was an epic grudge match. This was the first time the two faced each other in a one-on-one match since 2006. The stipulations going into this match was if Ruckus wins, Frazier retires, if Frazier wins, BLK OUT must disband. Ruckus entered the ring with BLK OUT and two masked individuals. Followed by that, Adam Flash, Ryan McBride along with three people dressed in Derek Frazier attire. As the teams began fighting, one of the individuals who came out with BLK OUT took off his mask and turned out to be the real Derek Frazier. These two took it to each other all around the ring side. As Frazier was gaining momentum, Chrissy from BLK OUT arrived to the ring and began to attack him. Immediately, Mia Yim would arrive to the ring to make it a level playing field. Ruckus and Chrissy agreed they had had enough and began to make their way back to the locker room. As the walked back, they were greeted by the entire RCW locker room and this match would become a lumberjack match. In the end it was Derek Frazier hitting Ruckus with multiple impact drivers and Ruckus would not be able to get up before the referee reach the count of 10. Frazier had finally got his revenge on Ruckus and BLK OUT and the entire locker room was in the ring celebrating.

My Opinion On Hulk Hogan

So everyone seems to hate Hulk Hogan and why? Prior to watching his video vs the Voice, I still was the biggest Hulk Hogan fan. In this video he really go into detail as to why Hulkamania has and will always be the biggest icon in wrestling. He was the biggest babyface in the history of professional wrestling. And once that red and yellow got old, Hogan became the biggest heel in professional wrestling as the leader of the NWO. Many people blame him for the demise of World Championship Wrestling, but it is really his fault?
If it was not for Hogan, professional wrestling would not be where it is today. In his video vs the voice, Hogan states that they tried to give the ball to other people including Savage, Warrior, and more but the fans were not receptive to them as much as they were to Hogan. One thing I wish is that the video was recorded after the passing of Savage, or that there could have been a video of Savage. The reason I say that is one, it almost seems like he is bashing Savage because he indicates that Savage blamed him for everything after he and Elizabeth broke up. We all know this was true, but I also wonder what would Savage have said in response if he were alive.
Hogan also indicated that the Ultimate Warrior was supposed to be the bullet in Hulkamania. He even stated that during their match at WrestleMania, Warrior did not want to go the distance. He wanted the match to be over in about six minutes, but it was Hulk Hogan, the man that everyone states cannot go longer than five minutes in a match, stated that "we need to give the people what they want." Warrior indicated in a recent video that he is going to spill the "truth" about Hogan. Only time will tell, I cannot wait
